A Wicked Life

One of the many things I love about living in Midtown Sacramento is the food. There is a place to eat on every corner. All good, all have their own little flair. I also work in Midtown so lunch time can be an adventure.  Lately, my workmates and I have discovered Eatuscany. A great Italian resterauant (so I've heard) on P Street, gets their desserts from Eatuscany.  Last week we decided to check it out for ourselves. It is a cute little cafe, not much seating inside but we were ordering to-go so it wasn't an issue. I'm sure they have outdoor seating when the weather is nice. I had the Lucca. It was delicious. I don't have a picture because it didn't last long. I plan on going back and trying their other sandwiches. Perhaps a cannoli  for dessert? Ciao for now!

I normally do not write concert or show reviews but last night was like being in the Twilight Show. Not the sparkly vampire movie but the Rod Serling series. My good friend invites me to see a Dave Matthews tribute band, Big Eyed Fish, at Harlow's last night. It sounded fun. I love Dave Matthews Band and my friend loves them even more. So much that her children bought her VIP tickets to their concert for her birthday. We started our night off having dinner at Centro's - three doors up from Harlow's. The show was due to start at 9:30 pm so we had plenty of time to enjoy a nice meal and a couple cocktails. Dinner was amazing. If you have the opportunity and I think they are seasonal, try their infused Pear and Vanilla tequila. mmmmm mmmm! Once we were done with dinner we head over to the venue. Everyone loves Happy Hour! Drink specials, great snacks, and time to decompress with friends. Whether you are a frequent partaker of Happy Hour or just once in awhile, here are a few places that are a must in Midtown Sacramento. Note:  This post isn't a plug and I'm not getting any compensation for the reviews. In fact, they are not even aware I'm writing this! Tee Hee The Red Rabbit Kitchen and Bar   It's a cozy lil place with big foods and drinks. The bartenders are artists. And I mean ARTISTS! I'm not a fan of whiskey but this place has made me a believer. Rich, the bartender, puts together amazingly unique concoctions with basil, balsamic, raspberry puree and bourbon.... lordy! Lost my train of thought for a minute. It isn't just about the drinks, it's everything. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with a little speak easy feel... Great for dinner with that special someone or a quick bite and fabulous drink with a friend after work, hence ...

Midtown Sacramento has a wide range of places to eat. Hole in the walls, fine dining, and. burger joints.  Pictured here is Crepeville . For years  I would pass by this eatery thinking to myself, "who the hell eats crepes on a regular basis?".  Since I started working downtown I have been more adventurous in trying new places. I like to try new foods but usually end up in a rut very quickly. Especially if I like something. Never considered crepes. I'm a living contradiction. One day, after a co-worker suggested it, I decided to check out Crepeville and see what all the hype was about.  Holy crap! The menu alone is amazing. Anything you can think of to put into a crepe is there. Well just about everything. Not only do they have crepes but also sandwiches, salads, pastas, and burgers... mmmm Did I mention cucumber water?  Since I was a bit overwhelmed I opted for a burger (of course). GREAT burger.
